SIRIVANNAVARI, founded by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, hosted an open house as part of Bangkok Design Week 2025. This anticipated event invited fashion and art enthusiasts to explore exceptional fashion and embroidery exhibits for the first time at House No. 1, Soi Charoen Krung 30, nestled in an artistic district along the Chao Phraya River.
The exhibition was divided into two main sections. The first showcased selected ensembles, including fabulous silk gowns, featuring pieces from the brand’s prestigious retrospective and the latest collection. Each of the 14 exhibits highlighted a variety of intricate embroidery techniques crafted by expert artisans from Sirivannavari Atelier & Academy, established by the Creative Director in 2016. This initiative aimed to develop embroidery craftsmanship that blends traditional Thai and French techniques, drawing from the international standards of the Maison Lesage Institute. A standout feature that should not be missed was the display of a stunning royal robe, meticulously hand-embroidered and incorporating the art of origami, which the Creative Director graciously made available for public viewing.
Each exhibit piece appeared vibrant and alive, allowing viewers to appreciate the high-level hand embroidery techniques, as captured through a cinematic lens. The artistry and dedication of craftsmen, who spent countless hours perfecting each stitch, were evident in every ensemble.
The second section offered a glimpse into a craftsman’s studio, complete with embroidery tools and samples. Attendees could observe live demonstrations of hand embroidery techniques and even participate in creating their own embroidery pieces. This interactive experience also provided insights into four distinct embroidery techniques: the French needle embroidery (Lunéville), goldwork, various needlework, and a blend of contemporary styles.
